Alice Cooper
Without Alice Cooper, there might never have been the NY Dolls, KISS, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Motley Crue, Slipknot or Rob Zombie … maybe not even David Bowie, or at least not Ziggy Stardust. The iconic hard rocker, who literally invented the concept of the rock concert as theater.
Alice has been a staple in the rock and roll community since the early 70′s and insists he’s still motivated to continue touring and making albums, as well as making time for such side projects as Cooper’stown (his Phoenix-based restaurant/sports bar), Alice Copper’s Solid Rock Foundation, his Alice Cooper: Golf Monster book, and his Nights With Alice Cooper nightly radio show, syndicated domestically and worldwide on over 100 stations.
“If there’s nothing standing in my way, why not?,” he shrugs. “It’s what I love doing. And no one puts on a show as good as ours, musically and visually. I’m glad to be an elder statesman, and a healthy one. I look to guys like Ozzy, Iggy and Steven Tyler as fellow survivors. We’re carnivores, not dinosaurs. We eat whatever bands are in our path.”
With his influence on rock & roll long since acknowledged, there is little that Alice Cooper hasn’t achieved in his remarkable career, including platinum albums, sold-out tours and any number of honors and career achievement awards.
Tommy Thayer
As the lead guitarist for the legendary rock band KISS, Tommy Thayer’s career in music has been more than a dream come true.
With a life-changing move to Southern California in early 1983, Tommy’s band Black ‘N Blue had immediate success packing Hollywood’s rock clubs, and within six months signed a major worldwide recording contract with Geffen Records.
Touring for two months as opening act for KISS in fall 1985, Black ‘N Blue soon befriended bassist Gene Simmons and asked him to produce the band’s next studio album. Gene noticed Tommy’s skills and work ethic, in turn asking him to write and record song demos with him for KISS.
Tommy officially took over the coveted KISS lead guitar spot on February 28th, 2003. In his official debut concert, KISS joined forces with the 70-piece Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (all in KISS makeup) for a concert at the Telstra Dome in Melbourne Australia. Recorded and filmed in front of 40,000 fans, a pay-per-view, CD and DVD were released worldwide later in the year.
With a desire to get involved and give back to the community where he grew up, Tommy was elected to the Board of Trustees at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in September 2005. Tommy has continued his interest in helping inspire kids with a commitment to support school programs, particularly in music. He arranged for new musical instruments to be donated to jump-start ailing school band programs in Oregon. Tommy has made appearances at middle and high schools in Forest Grove, Hillsboro, and Lake Oswego, Oregon speaking to students with hopes that they will follow their dreams and accomplish all that they aspire to do. More recently in February 2010, Tommy & KISS were featured in ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition helping a family in need with new instruments for their home-based, non-profit music school.
Eric Singer
Eric Singer is the drummer for the rock band KISS and formerly for singer Alice Cooper. Over the past two decades Singer has appeared on over 75 albums and 11 EPs.
Singer’s first professional drumming job was as Lita Ford’s touring drummer in 1984. In 1985 he joined Black Sabbath, replacing original drummer Bill Ward. Singer would participate in the recording of the albums Seventh Star and The Eternal Idol and was invited by his Black Sabbath colleague Ray Gillen to join the latter’s new formed band Badlands. Singer accepted and played on the band’s self-titled debut album. Singer left the group in 1989 as he would join Paul Stanley as his touring drummer on his solo tour of America and Canada.
In December 1991, Eric Singer officially became the drummer for KISS after the death of Eric Carr. Singer was hired and debuted with the band on the album Revenge, on which he was originally slated to fill in on some tracks while Eric Carr recuperated from heart cancer. Singer played on Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions and toured with KISS until 1996, when the band reunited with original drummer Peter Criss and guitarist Ace Frehley for the Alive/Worldwide Tour.
After five years, during which Singer toured with Queen guitarist Brian May, Singer was asked to rejoin KISS in 2001 after Criss’ departure shortly before the Australian and Japanese leg of KISS’ Farewell tour. Singer debuted in full “Catman” make-up and costume for the first time on the tour. Singer was replaced again by Criss in 2003 but returned to the band by the end of the year and has been playing drums in KISS as their permanent drummer ever since.
Robby Krieger
Robby Krieger was the guitarist in The Doors, and wrote some of the band’s best known songs, including “Light My Fire”, “Love Me Two Times”, “Touch Me”, and “Love Her Madly”. He is listed as number 91 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
Krieger was a member of the Doors along with keyboard player Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore and vocalist Jim Morrison. At an early Doors rehearsal Morrison heard Krieger playing bottleneck guitar and initially wanted the technique featured on every song on the first album. Krieger’s fingerstyle approach to the electric guitar, eclectic musical tastes, and songwriting helped establish the Doors as a successful rock band in the 1960s.
Krieger occasionally sang for the Doors, his only singing with the early Doors can be heard on the album The Soft Parade, on the song “Runnin’ Blue”. He also sang on the last two Doors albums, recorded after Morrison’s death, Other Voices and Full Circle.
Sebastian Bach
Sebastian Bach has sold in excess of 20 million records worldwide as lead singer with his former band, Skid Row and as a solo artist.
Since departing the band, Bach has produced chart topping records and performed with Poison and Axl Rose from Guns N’ Roses in addition to touring as a solo act. Sebastian Bach’s most recent billboard chart topping solo album, Kicking and Screaming, was met with universal acclaim and praise.
Far from just being a multi-platinum recording artist, the singer/songwriter/actor/entertainer has expanded his career over the past decade to include episodic television with a 5-season recurring role on the CW’s hit series “Gilmore Girls”, starring roles on Broadway (“Jekyll & Hyde”, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”) and national touring companies (“Jesus Chris Superstar”), and has appeared regularly on MTV and VH1.
Joey Allen
Joey Allen is the lead guitarist for the glam metal band Warrant.
The band formed in 1984 in LA and hit the rock scene in February 1989 with the release of it’s debut album “Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich”. The album was highly successful, spawning the hit singles “Heaven”, “Down Boys”, and “Sometimes She Cries” and peaked at #10 on the billboard 200.
In May 2011 the band released their eighth studio album Rockaholic which, along with touring, helped keep the buzz surrounding Warrant as strong as ever.
Chuck Garric
Currently on tour with Alice Cooper, Chuck has contributed his Bass playing and song writing talents to three Alice Cooper records. “Eyes of Alice Cooper”,”Dirty Diamonds,” and “Along Came a Spider”. Chuck has also lent his talents during the annual Alice Cooper Christmas Pudding Concert. He has had the honor of playing Bass for Ted Nugent, Don Felder “Eagles,” Cheap Trick, Neal Schon “Journey” and Robbie Krieger “The Doors”.
When not touring the world with Alice, Chuck joins fellow Alice Cooper band member and KISS drummer, Eric Singer, Grand Funk Railroad and former KISS Guitarist, Bruce Kulick and RATT guitar player and former Motley Crue frontman John Corrabi, to play and tour with ESP – the Eric Singer Project.
